These forms include:

  • Petition for Dissolution of Marriage or Legal Separation

  • Case Information Worksheet

  • Separation Agreement

  • Sworn Financial Statements and Supporting Schedules

  • Colorado Spousal/Partner Maintenance Advisement

  • Colorado Child Support Worksheet

  • Parenting Plan

  • Certificates of Compliance with the Mandatory Disclosures Checklist

  • Support Order

  • Decree

  • Affidavit for Decree without Appearance of Parties (agreed on all matters / no minor children)

  • Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

Progress & Completion:  Colorado has a 91 day mandatory waiting period to issue a Decree of Dissolution of Marriage (Divorce) or Decree of Legal Separation.

An Initial Status Conference or ISC is scheduled when initial paperwork is filed, approximately 42 days out. The purpose of this Status Conference is to assess whether the file is complete and ready to set for final hearing. Mediation sessions are usually scheduled every week to complete the paperwork in time for the Initial Status Conference.

Homework: A follow up email is routinely sent after each session with follow up items to complete in between sessions. This keeps everyone on pace to finish agreements in a timely manner.

If Parties reach a partial agreement in mediation, the remaining contested issues are determined by the Judge or Magistrate.  The great majority Judy’s mediation clients are able to complete agreements and finalize all paperwork within the 42 day timeframe from the filing of the Petition to the Initial Status Conference.
